Remarkable Stars was launched to celebrate the students, teachers and staff of the AISD. It is an easy way to show appreciation and recognize accomplishments. Similar to the Cheers section in a newspaper, this program relies on submissions through the online form. Help us honor AISD students, teachers and staff! - Submit a "Star"

Mrs. Kay Reynolds - Teacher at West Elementary

Mrs. Reynolds is an enthusiastic teacher who has made fourth grade interesting and fun for our son. He has learned so much from her. She is organized and does not move on until each concept is well understood. Mrs. Reynolds was the same way when our daughter was in her sixth grade class years ago. We wish her well.

Mrs. Lynda Wood - Teacher at Bowie High School

Mrs. Lynda Wood has done an excellent job of teaching Algebra I. Our daughter, who was once somewhat intimidated by math, has enjoyed being in Mrs. Wood's class. Mrs. Wood is an organized teacher who does not move on to the next concept until each student understands it completely. She is a dedicated teacher who communicates well with the students and has kept us informed on our daughter's progress. We are so thankful for her!

Ms. Sharon Mallouf - 3rd Grade Teacher at CB Berry Elementary

Ms. Mallouf has had two of my boys in her class, and she is the best teacher that any of them have had in elementary school. I was very disappointed to find out that she is retiring because I still have a few more boys that I'd like for her to teach, but I'm certain that her retirement is well-deserved and much needed. She is a remarkable lady and teacher, and she will be missed. We are very thankful that we got to experience her sincere love for her students. Thanks, Ms. Mallouf!

Ms. Andrea Stephens - Teaching Assistant at Moore Elementary School

When a fifth-grade student became ill in art class, Andrea Stephens thought she was just walking a student to the clinic. When the student collapsed on the way, Ms. Stephens immediately scooped the student up in her arms and carried her down the hallway to the clinic. The student quickly regained consciousness, and after a trip to the ER, returned to school the next day. Andrea Stephens' instincts prevented a possible serious situation for this student had she not been escorted. Thank you, Andrea!
