Mr. Scott Crawford - Texas History Teacher at Shackelford
Mr. Crawford goes the extra mile. He teaches my daughter at Shackelford Junior High and is always sending parents reminders about big projects, tests, quizzes, midterms, benchmarks and other items that are about to be due for the students. He has done this all year long. When he has been absent, he sends me an e-mail to remind my daughter that there would be a substitute.

Ms. Cari Clark - Assistant Principal at Moore Elementary
Cari Clark waits outside each morning to greet the students as they arrive. She and Guidance Tech Jeanne Zenk make sure students are welcomed with a warm smile and words of encouragement. They even reward students with "Gold Coupons" for exiting their vehicles safely and correctly! Sometimes they walk the students to the door under an umbrella when it's raining. They are both Remarkable Stars at Moore Elementary!

Ms. Holli Hall - Math Instructional Facilitator at Knox Elementary
Ms. Hall is very intuitive and knowledgeable in elementary math. She knows all the TEKS inside and out and truly understands how each concept builds onto the next. She is dependable and available to help in any way she can, without telling you how to instruct or manage your classroom. The students at Knox love Math Lab and look forward to all her hands-on math activities.

Mr. Jason Stewart - Fourth Grade Teacher at Atherton Elementary
Mr. Stewart started a new program at Atherton called Boys 2 Men. The program was designed to promote manhood and perseverance and to show the young men how to respect others and earn respect from others. With the motto "taking no excuses" and vision "looking to a brighter future," I believe Mr. Stewart has these young men off to a very good future.

Ms. Crishetta Willis - Special Education Teacher at Hutcheson Junior High
Ms. Willis has continued to pursue excellence in the fact that she is always learning from others and has taken to one piece of advice very well – build relationships. She has built such wonderful relationships with her students, and it is evident by the smiling faces that enter and leave her class. The students do not feel that reading is such a chore while they are with Ms. Willis. She makes it enjoyable and leaves them wanting and craving more.

Ms. Karen Jenkins - 5th grade science/math teacher at Miller Elementary
Ms. Jenkins's math class started in March building a cardboard boat for the 20th Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta sponsored by River Legacy. Ten students worked after school and Saturday mornings bending, gluing and painting. The boat was made entirely of cardboard; no plastic was allowed. During the May 2 competition at Hurricane Harbor, Miller students finished fast enough to proceed to the semifinals and came in second in their heat. Everyone had a great time, and they are already planning for next year.

Matt Varnell - Assistant Principal at West Elementary
Along with the various duties of an assistant principal, Mr. Varnell has started two after-school programs for students. One is the Court of Honor for fifth and sixth grade boys where they are learning what it means to be honorable young men. The other after-school program is the Chess Club where the students are learning strategic thinking. Both programs have been very successful, and Mr. Varnell has managed to engage many of our parents as volunteers for these programs. Great job Mr. Varnell!
