The Learning Center at Bowie High Schools offers before and after school programs in the areas of academic assistance, enrichment, family and parental support and college/workforce readiness.   The Learning Center programs are free to all students registered at Bowie High School. SENIOR NIGHT: Bowie High School Counselors invites the Class of 2010 to our upcoming Senior Night event. Join us Thursday, November 19 at 6:30 pm for a College Essay Writing & FAFSA Pin Registration workshop. We have a guest speaker who will discuss the importance of college essays & how they impact the college application process & information about the FAFSA pin registration process. We look forward to seeing you there!

Manhassett Community Service Award

The Manhassett Neighborhood Community honors Bowie teachers and students for their dedication and service to Bowie High School. This month, students Anthony H., and Tiffany P. and Choices teacher Kelly G. received the Service Award. Congratulations to these great Bowie Volunteers.

Drumline Finishes on Top

The Bowie Drumline competed in Marcus High School's Lone Star Classic against 75 drumlines. Bowie Drumline placed 3rd in their class and won best tenors. Their performance ties the highest ranking in school history. This caps off their summer season winning a total of 5 awards not including a second place finish in class at the Desoto marching contest. Congratulations Drumline!

PSAT National Winners

Congratulations to Jared W., Kelsey, L., and Ian J., for receiving recognition from the National Merit Scholarship Program. Jared was recognized at a National Achievement Semi-Finalist and National Merit Semi-Finalist; Kelsey was recognized as a National Achievement Outstanding Participant; and Ian was recognized as a National Merit Commended Scholar. All Achievement Scholarship winners are selected from the finalist group on the basis of their abilities, accomplishments and potential for success in college. 

Band Receives Top UIL Rating

Congratulations to our "Spirit of the Volunteer" Marching Band for their spectacular performance at the UIL Region 5 Marching Contest. Our band, lead by Drum Majors Mary Kate Ritchey, Oscar Ceniceros and Rachael Dukes dazzled the crowd with their performance of their marching production titled "Reflections of Earth." The band received the the coveted 1st Division "Superior" Rating by the UIL panel of judges.

Students Selected for Honor Choir

Four Bowie Choir students, Reynaldo A., Kathryn M., Nicholas W.,and Michelle A. were selected to participate in the Region V 9th/10th Grade Honor Choir. Congratulations to these students, and to the other participants for their strong showing and dedication!
