Manhassett Community Service Award

The Manhassett Neighborhood Community honors Bowie teachers and students for their dedication and service to Bowie High School. This month Choices teacher Kelly G. received the Service Award. Congratulations to this great Bowie Volunteer.
Breast Cancer Awareness Service Project

The Lady Vols Volleyball Team honored these breast cancer survivors at the Bowie vs. Martin game. Each honoree recevied a pink carnation in honor of their brave fight against breast cancer. Click here for more photos>>
Manhassett Community Service Award

Congratulations to Math teacher, Ms. Sheri Russell for receiving the Manhassett Community Service Award. This award was presented by Marvin Sutton, Community Watch Coordinator to Ms. Russell for all her hard work and dedication sponsoring the Key Club.

Veteran Teachers Honored
Several Bowie Faculty were honored at a banquet hosted by AISD for their years of service in Arlington. These teachers have been in the teaching profession from 25 to 40 years. Math Teacher Selected as Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to Rebecca Barrett, Math teacher, for being selected by her peers as this year's Teacher of the Year. Ms. Barrett teaches PreAP Algebra II and PreAP Pre-Calculus. Ms. Barrett is considered by all as a wonderful and caring teacher. She stays after school every night tutoring her students. Ms. Barrett is highly respected among her colleagues within the Math Department, Bowie Faculty and throughout the district. Ms. Barrett teaches with respect, has a strong work ethic to model for her students and above all, she loves kids and math. The Bowie Faculty are very proud to have Ms. Barrett represent us as the Teacher of the Year.

Lady Vols Basketball Coach Achieves 300th Career Win
Wanda Talton, Lady Vols Basketball Coach and Math teacher was honored for her 300th career win on December 19 at the game against Summit High School. Assistant Director of Athletics/PE, O. J. Kemp presented Coach Talton with a trophy. Coach Talton took the Lady Vols to state and became the state champions in the 2004-05 school year. Talton was also named teacher of the year in 2004.
