• Unleashed Poetry Club will have an open coffee house during lunch for the entire month of April in room 296. Tell your friends to come hang out and drink hot coffee and listen to cool music during lunch next month. Also, we will be announcing the Spring Hidden Talents Poetry Contest. Most details coming soon.
• Because spring break falls on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, we will meet this Wednesday, March 12 in room 296. We will be ordering t-shirts so attendance is important. Bring $7.00 to pre-pay for your shirt. If any teachers would like to buy an Unleashed Poetry Club Shirt for $7.00, please send Stacy Campbell an email with size.

• Attention students - There was an error in the Smoke Signals that you received in the mail. There is NO early release March 12.

• Attention Team Captains and Organization Presidents ...Please come to the President's Council meeting this Thursday at lunch in the Little Theater. We will be discussing end of the year activities. Pizza provided.
• Hey Girls are you interested in seeing the newest Prom Fashions??? Bahama Bash is having a Prom Fashion Show with Prom Styles from "Whatchamacallit", this Saturday, March 6th from 2 to 4 in the afternoon, in the MHS Auditorium. Tickets go on sale today at Lunch for $5. All grades are invited especially Senior Girls!!!
• Attention 10th & 11th graders...If you are interested in being in Leadership class next year the deadline for turning in applications is THIS FRIDAY at 3:00. Applictions are outside of room 250.
• Its Warrior Baseball time!! The Jennifer Tyde Memorial Baseball Tournament will be held this weekend at Martin High School Baseball complex. Plan to come support your Martin Warriors.

• It's cheerleading tryout time! Mandatory tryout meeting is March 2 at 7:45 in the Little Theater. You and a parent MUST attend!
• Did you know energy efficient light bulbs save about $30 in electricity costs over the bulb's lifetime? Please donate new energy efficient light bulbs to room 282B or 273 to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
• Students, please be aware that on Monday, March 1, 2010, all students who eat in the cafeteria must be seated. For safety reasons, we are asking every student who remains in the cafeteria at lunch to sit down. No student will be allowed to stand and loiter.
• Seniors Seeking Scholarship money. Please make a note - deadlines are upon us! UTA Daughters of the American Revolution - Deadline March 6. MHS PTSA - Deadline March 12. Arlington Women's Club - Deadline March 12. Please check the MHS scholarship bulletin for more opportunities. The bulletin can be found online or in the counseling office.

• Junior World Affairs Council will meet on Friday. Join us to hear a guest speaker. The 2010-2011 Italian Exchange will be discussed and applications will be available. T-shirts will be for sale. Please join us in room 209 at lunch.
• The junior varsity softball teams Red and Black will practice after school today at 3 pm. Girls, please be on the softball fields by 3 pm. Thanks!

• Sophomores and Juniors...Are you interested in being in the Leadership class next year? 2010/2011 Leadership applications are available outside room 250 today. The deadline for applications to the Leadership program is March 5.
• Attention Spanish National Honor Society Officers: There will be an important meeting on Wednesday, February 24 at lunch in Mr. Conant's room.
• We are selling presales for the 1st Annual Cody RocaSkateFest, Charity Concert and Skate Festival, Wednesday in the Upper Gym Lobby. RocaSkateFest will help build and maintain a Skate park and skate spots in Arlington, Tx. Presale tickers are $15. With your admission you get entry into a raffle, all day entertainment including 8 bands/7 skate teams/food/games/silent auction and so much more.
• Sign ups for the Red Cross Blood Drive are in English classes or outside room 250 January 22-March 2. The Blood Drive will take place in Gym D, Friday, March 5.

• Did you know every ton of paper recycled can save the energy equivalent of 185 gallons of gas? HOPE club is selling "Hug me, I'm a tree" t-shirts for $13 in room 282 B or 273. HOPE will be awarding 1 hour of community service for every 300 soda tabs collected.
• Attention Seniors who have participated in our BAND PROGRAM for 4 years. The Corey Elementary PTA has a $500 scholarship opportunity for you! The scholarship committee will base their decision on musical accomplishment, school and community involvement, academic record and future goals. Deadline is Friday, March 12. Applications are available in the Counseling office.

• Hey Sophomores and Juniors - are you interested in being in the Leadership class next year? Applications are available outside of Room 250 today. You have until March 5th to turn Applications in.
• Attention all MSA members there will be a meeting this Friday at the beginning of lunch. If you are interested in buying one of the 2009-2010 shirts, be sure to bring your 10 dollars with you. Everybody is welcome and we hope to see you there!
